Organization & Home Design on a semi-affordable budget

Hey guys, Brittany here!

If you’ve gotten this far, you’re probably wondering who are you both? Korey and I are a husband and wife DIY team, he’s the humor and the muscle, and I’m the editor and designer often behind the scenes. Doing projects, sticking to our budget, building, organizing, and designing spaces, continues to bring on a partnership we never knew we needed! 

You may be asking, out of all the things you could do together, why DIY? Honestly, it started because we bought homes that weren’t really our style, and we didn’t really have the budget to hire a handy man! With a little bit of paint, and a lot of trial and error, we’ve created spaces that are functional, organized, and have found a love of creating rooms in our home.

I have found a passion I never knew existed for home design, and Korey’s learned to let me run with it. If you can believe it, he’s regularly wondering who I plan to hire for what I’m intending on creating… haha. I always believe he can do it, and often, he proves me right. We are self-taught, amateur, DIYers, who are usually learning new trades, making mistakes and learning from them. Our hope is to bring you along, teach you, and inspire you to try too!

Through our social media, and our blog tutorials we hope to motivate YOU to get up and make your dreams a reality. Paint a wall, pick up a tool and make a change that reflects what you love! You can create a home that you want, that you can be proud of too.

A Little Back Story… My Dad is a contractor, a business owner, and most recently a patent owner- we are so incredibly proud of him! He built a company from the ground up and taught me that you can do anything you put your mind too- he encouraged me to chase my dreams. Today I’m empowered, because it’s true, dreaming, creating spaces, and a life you love, IS possible.

At a young age I painted my walls on my own, and designed my high school bedroom probably three times! I painted my first focal wall, bought textiles, and moved my bed around the room too many times to count. I guess you could say it’s always been a part of me. Most recently DIY and design bring me a love for function, a piece of my identity, and a joy to continue doing and designing spaces that bring me peace.

Growing up around big paint projects, building renovations, and dinners with Dad outside of a job site was the norm and something that has stayed with me all these years. It motivates me to continue the legacy in my own way, for our children, to be an entrepreneur, and build my own legacy with Korey.
